Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games Invites Community to Torchlighting Event and Unveils New Branding
Trail, BC – [November 17, 2025] – Excitement is building as the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games Board announces two major milestones in the countdown to the Games: a community Torchlighting Ceremony and the official unveiling of the event’s new branding.
The Torchlighting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 20, in the Trail Memorial Centre gymnasium, marking the 100-day countdown to the Games. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. with brief remarks from Games organizers and community leaders, followed by the lighting of the BC Games torch. The public is invited to attend this free event and share in the spirit of anticipation as the flame is lit to symbolize unity, pride, and the journey toward the Games, to be held February 25 – March 1, 2026.
Alongside the ceremony, the Board has also unveiled the official branding for the 2026 BC Winter Games. The new look reflects the distinctive character of the Trail-Rossland region — a blend of history, nature, and athletic spirit. The design draws inspiration from the area’s rich mining heritage, the Columbia River and the rugged beauty of the Rossland Range that overlooks both host communities.
At the heart of the branding is the tagline “From Metals to Medals: Forging Community in Sport,” which celebrates the region’s evolution from industrious mining towns to dynamic winter-sport destinations.
“Our branding reflects the energy and collaboration that define these Games,” said Brian Stefani, President of the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games. “The same determination that once forged metal now fuels our athletes and strengthens our community. This launch isn’t just about a new design. It’s about igniting pride within our community and showcasing what makes Trail and Rossland uniquely special.”
The refreshed identity will be featured across promotional materials, merchandise, signage, and online platforms leading up to the Games. Approximately 1,100 athletes from across British Columbia are expected to compete, supported by hundreds of local volunteers and partners.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to get involved by signing up to volunteer, attending community events, and sharing their excitement on social media using #BCWinterGames, #TrailRossland2026, and #FromMetalsToMedals.
