Women’s Artistic Gymnastics: Day 1: Team and All Around Competition. All athletes, including Wildcards compete under their own set of rules (CCP Level 7 or Level 8, Equipment as indicated in the BC CCP Charts document for the current season). Team: 6 athletes per Zone to compete on each apparatus, top 4 scores on each apparatus to count. Athletes are split by category/level for the All Around and to determine finalists on each apparatus. Day 2: Apparatus Finals – top 8 athletes on each apparatus according to Day 1 ranking and up to 2 additional athletes on each apparatus for regional representation. All WAG athletes must compete on at least one apparatus during Finals (unless sick or injured). Coaches may be consulted to determine an athlete's best apparatus for Finals. |

Athletes qualify and register for the Games through their home zone. How athletes qualify for the Games (ie zone quota spot, wildcard, or indigenous pathway) may be different than what zone team they are placed on for the team event play. Players who qualified and confirmed participation for the postponed 2022 Games remain eligible for the new 2023 Games, and need not participate in the trials. There is a zone trial if a zone has insufficient players or to determine player rankings for the allocation of wildcard spots. All zone qualifications shall be coordinated through Badminton BC and completed by December 10, 2022. All participants at zone qualification events must be a minimum of recreational members of Badminton BC. A minimal entry fee may be charged at any of the zone qualification events. The Provincial Advisor will confirm to athletes attendance to the Games and will submit final roster registration to BC Games Society by January 22, 2024. |

The BC Games sport of Badminton consists of: 1. Individual Competition 2. Team Competition 3. Skills Competition INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION a. Individual Events i. Girls Singles ii. Boys Singles iii. Girls Doubles iv. Boys Doubles v. Mixed Doubles b. Individual Event Entry – Players will play one (1) Individual Competition Event of their coaches choosing. This event must be identified at the time of the BC Games entry deadline to the Provincial Advisor and Badminton BC. c. All players, including wildcards, will compete for their respective zone for the individual events. All players are guaranteed competition in the individual event and skills event d. The format of each Individual Event will depend on the size of each event’s entries using the current Badminton World Federation Laws of Badminton as adopted by Badminton Canada. e. Seedings and draws shall be determined by the Provincial Advisor, the Technical Director and Badminton BC Technical Staff and posted a minimum of one (1) week in advance of start of competition. f. Scheduling shall be done by the Provincial Advisor and Technical Director and posted a minimum of one (1) week in advance of start of competition. g. Individual Events will precede the Team Competition. |

With the change of age from U15 (2020 BC Winter Games) to U16, there are additional eligibility requirements due to the potential for repeat athletes at the 2022 BC Winter Games. 1. The following athletes are not eligible to tryout for, or participate in the 2022 BC Winter Games: a. Any athlete who is rostered to Team BC (CRCs) for the 2021/2022 season AND attended the 2020 BC Winter Games b. Any athlete who attended the 2020 BC Winter Games and placed in the top 3 (Zone 2, 4 and 5) 2. Any other athlete who attended the 2020 BC Winter Games from Zone 3, 4a, 7 or 8, is eligible to attend a second BC Winter Games in 2022 permitting they are not rostered to Team BC (CRCs) for the 2021/2022 season. 3. Athletes who are rostered to Team BC (CRCs) for the 2021/2022 season, and did NOT attend the 2020 BC Winter Games are eligible to tryout. These athletes should contact Ringette BC prior to attending the tryouts for their Zone.
