Accommodation Requirements:
All athletes, coaches, and adult supervisors participating in the BC Games are required to stay in designated BC Games accommodation. This ensures a consistent Games experience for all participants, including access to meals, transportation, and supervision.
Officials are not required to stay in BC Games accommodation, unless they are under the age of 19 as of the first day of the Games. Officials should contact their Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) for further information on accommodation arrangements. Exemptions for athletes or coaches to stay outside of BC Games accommodation may be granted for legitimate medical reasons. However, these exemptions are regulated and must be approved in advance to ensure the integrity of the accommodation model. Contact your Provincial Advisor for further information. Transportation Requirements: All athletes, coaches, and adult supervisors, except for those residing within close proximity to the host community, are expected to use BC Games transportation services from their designated pick-up point, which may include bus or air travel. This transportation is provided at no additional cost to participants. Participants residing within close proximity to the host community are responsible for their own travel to the Games, a process known as Immediate Vicinity Travel. Participants may request to opt out of BC Games transportation (a process known as Own Travel) with approval from the Provincial Advisor. However, sport-specific travel requirements may override this option. Participants traveling under either Immediate Vicinity Travel or Own Travel do so at their own expense and liability. The full athlete fee still applies regardless of the travel method chosen. BC Games Society definitions of coaches varies slightly from Gymnastics BC. Expectation is for each zone to have one head coach per discipline for Gymnastics. All athletes must be registered with Gymnastics BC as competitive members. Athletes must represent the BC Games zone where they reside. Each Zone Rep is to ensure that their athletes are registered correctly for trials. Athletes injured prior to the Games and unable to compete on all apparatus, are required to forfeit their position on the team. The athlete will be replaced by the Zone reserve athlete or registered Sub. Athletes may only attend BC Games one BC Games in Artistic Gymnastics, unless they meet certain criteria. All athletes, including Wildcards compete under their own set of rules (CCP Level 7 or Level 8; equipment as indicated in the BC CCP Charts document for the current season). Team: 6 athletes per Zone to compete on each apparatus, top 4 scores on each apparatus to count. Athletes are split by category/level for the All Around and to determine finalists on each apparatus. Day 2: Apparatus Finals – top 8 athletes on each apparatus according to Day 1 ranking and up to 2 additional athletes on each apparatus for regional representation. All WAG athletes must compete on at least one apparatus during Finals (unless sick or injured). Coaches may be consulted to determine an athlete's best apparatus for Finals. |

The goal is to form zone teams of 8 athletes (4 boys and 4 girls) for the team event play. Each zone will conduct their own trials for selection to the zone team between October 3 – December 7, 2025. In the zone trials, the format for player’s selection to the zone team is singles play. A minimum fee will be charged to cover for shuttles. Athletes will be selected through zone qualification trials, prior to which they must have received instruction from a NCCP trained or certified Biathlon coach. In each zone, zone selections will consist of a single Sprint race. The Sprint will held in the Development 2 category and follow the rules and regulations of the current Biathlon BC hosting policy. Zone selections must be held between December 5, 2025 and January 4, 2026. Biathlon BC requires all zone qualification trials to be completed by January 4, 2026. All participants on BC Games transportation services must adhere to the BC Games Society’s Team Travel Policy which requires them to travel at their own expense and liability to a designated zone pick-up point and be under the supervision of a coach or adult supervisor from their sport. |
19/01/2026 | 8 | All participants must be current paid members of the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society. Athletes may attend up to three BC Winter Games if at the appropriate LTAD stage. Approval from BCWBS and BC Games staff is required for an athlete who have previously competed in two BC Winter Games - requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Athletes must be prepared to independently care for themselves in all aspect of personal care, general health and on court performance. Tournament Draw will be set up by the Provincial Advisors and will be published once the number of Zone teams has been finalized. | April 2, 2025 | The BC Games Society athlete fee for the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games is $175.00 to subsize a portion of Games operating expenses such as participant travel, accommodations and meals. BCWBS charges athletes a supplementary fee of $25 to cover athlete t-shirts and coaches uniforms. The total athlete fee to compete in wheelchair basketball at the 2026 BC Winter Games is $200 and is collected by BCWBS. All participants must be an annual member with BCWBS and pay appropriate fee. Additional fees may be charged by individual zone teams to support pre-Games training opportunities and/or additional zone items, at the discretion of the Zone Rep or head coach. |
