Search for new President & CEO underway as Alison Noble announces retirement
The search for a new BC Games Society President & CEO has begun as Alison Noble has announced her retirement after eight years in the role.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors for the BC Games Society, I want to extend our sincere thanks to Alison for her outstanding leadership, dedication and professionalism throughout her time with the Society” said Francis Cheung, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Society. “Alison’s commitment to advancing sport in B.C. has strengthened opportunities for athletes, coaches, volunteers and communities throughout the province. She has been an excellent leader with a steady presence, and her contributions have left a meaningful and lasting impact on the organization and the broader sport community.”
Noble, who originally served as an Event Manager for the BC Games between 1991-1996, returned to the organization in 2018 in the role of President & CEO. While overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, the Society continued to thrive under her leadership with new initiatives and strong partnerships across the sector.
“I have been honoured to serve this organization and see so many amazing participants benefit from the BC Games and Team BC, but this feels like a good time to pass the torch,” said Noble, whose last Games will be the upcoming Kelowna 2026 BC Summer Games. “It has been a pleasure working alongside so many passionate sport leaders as we strived to keep the provincial sport sector moving forward with relevance and purpose.”

About the BC Games Society
Established in 1977 by the B.C. Government under the Societies Act, the BC Games Society (the Society) oversees the BC Winter Games and BC Summer Games. The Society also supports the participation of Team BC, the provincial team competing at Canada Games, in national multi-sport Games. Each of these Games provide opportunities for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition. The BC Games also provide important economic and tourism benefits, allowing hosts to profile their communities and benefit from an economic impact in the range of $1.6 million to $2 million. The legacies of the BC Winter and BC Summer Games allow for capacity building in communities across the province resulting in a stronger British Columbia.
